December end 1992, riots in Mumbai.

Sunil Dutt, a Gandhian, set off to help riot victims. The Dutt residence soon became a point where relief material was collected.

During that period Dutt family received anonymous threats on the phone. The threats ranged from killing male members of the family to, molestation and rape of the two daughters of Dutt family.

Things took an ugly turn when Sunil Dutt was attacked Jogeshwari and Behrampur. Threats continued, and finally Sanjay Dutt logged a complaint with the Police. Dutt Sr. plea wasn’t attended to by the police. Disillusioned, Sanjay was worried about his family.

Later that day he told an army officer, who guarded the Dutt residence that night. Next day on Sanjay was worried again.
